About his Ancestors

Past Rulers of Bilari:
BILARI,DHANAURA,MIRZAPUR were all one jagir ruled by Raja Shankar Lal(born 1820 to Raja Uttam Chandra into the Srivastava kayastha family ) spanning the whole Moradabad/Shahjahanpur area (Old name Katehr/Badaun in about year 1850) and belonged to the family of the jagirdars who controlled most of Western UP since year 1600- The family tree goes up to Raja Ram Gulam and Raja Gulab Rai from the time of Mugal emperors Shahjahan and Jehangir. This was the largest Kayastha Jagir in northern India. Daughters of the family of Raja Tikait Rai wazir Nawab of Oude (Awadh) were married into Raja Shankar Lal's family.
Rai Shiv Narain (born 1890) was grandson of Raja Shankar Lal and was married (in 1925) to Rani Shanti Devi, great grand daughter of Raja Tikait Rai Wazir Nawab of Awadh (Oude). Rai Shiv Narain was the eldest son (out of three sons) of Rai Krishna Kumar (son of Raja Shankar Lal) and lived in Hussainpura (old name Bisrat), Shahjahanpur. Raja Shankar Lal was son of Raja Uttam Chandra, son of Raja Rewa Ram, son of Raja Asha Ram, son of Raja Gulab Rai who was greart grand son of Raja Ram Gulam. Their palace (now in ruins but still standing) touching the banks of river Khannaut was huge and spread over four (4) kmsquare area. It had about 100 rooms and was covered on three sides. Next to the palace is the temple of Kali Ma in Bisrat still standing (Shahjahanpur). In order to bring the railway tracks to the area, the British government had to lay the tracks through the palace "Aangan" dividing it into two parts and breaking one of the sides. One part was called Chota Phatak and the other Bada Phatak - still standing in Bisrat. Rai Shiv Narain was 12 year old when his father Rai Krishna Kumar died (1902). Rai Shiv Narain brother-in-laws (Rani Shanti Devi's brothers- Rai Ram Narain et al) were 1947 freedom fighters who participated and perished in the Kakori Kand with Ram Prasad Bismil near Lucknow.
