A ‘Samaj-Chintan-Gosthi’ was organized by www.kayastha.com at the residence of Hon’ble Shri Subodh Kant Sahai, Minister for Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India in New Delhi. On this occasion Shri Anurag Kirti Srivastava, a renowned singer and music director from Bombay, who has released about 100 CDs, presented a musical session. Shri Madbhagwat Mahapuran written by Shri Mahendra Sinha, Bombay, CDs of songs & Sai Bhajan by Manu Gidwani and Kirti Anurag Srivastava, CD of Chitragupta Telefilm by Dr. U.C. Srivastava, Kanpur were also released by Shri Subodh Kant Sahai, Minister for Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India, Smt. Neera Shastri Daughter-in-law of Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Former Prime Minister of India and Smt. Sabina Srivastava, CEO, www.kayastha.com. Representatives from all walks of life such as Senior Bureaucrats, Doctors, Engineers, Chartered Accountants, Journalists, Advocates, Industrialists, Business men, Entrepreneurs and Professionals etc. alongwith the representatives of different Kayasth / Chitransh Sabhas from different parts of the country such as U.P. Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh, Uttrakhand, Bihar, Orissa, & Jharkhand attended the function. Certain functional programmes such as blood donor bank and coaching centres in each district;  marriage hall; Engineering and Medical college, Law, M.B.A./B.ED college and other  professional courses; kayastha bank; organizing social  events and at least two community functions such as Holi and Bhai Dooj-Chitragupta Pooja; creation of  matrimonial and  job facilities; help to the needy and poor with regard to health, education and marriage were deliberated and discussed in the meeting. A strategy was evolved for implementation of these functional programmes. It was generally felt that  even though the population of kayasth Biradari is ten crores with spread all over the country particularly in U.P., Uttranchal, M.P. Orissa, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhatisgarh, Bengal , Assam, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Haryanan, Gujarat etc. but different  political parties have not given due  recognition and importance to the leaders of kayastha community  in their parties. It is unfortunate that  though  there  were four Cabinet Ministers in  NDA Govt. such as S/Sh. Ravi Shanker Prasad, Shatrughan Sinha, Suresh Prabhu and Yashwant Sinha but UPA has made only one Minister from the community of ten crores and that too a State Minister Sh. Subodh Kant Sahai. He should have at least been made the Cabinet Minister. Shri Anil Shastri S/o Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Former Prime Minister of India has not been considered for Rajya Sabha/Lok Sabha so far. Equally in B.J.P, Sh. Shatrughan Sinha has not been given Rajya Sabha ticket this time nor Smt. Neera Shastri,  Daugher-in-Law of Late Prime Minister Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, one of the active well wisher of Kayastha community, has neither been given proper Organizational recognition or any Parliamentary achievement. Everybody urged the leadership of different parties to give proper recognition to leaders of kayastha community. Likewise great concern was made to their loosing presence in administration and judiciary, which  used to be  their  fundamental field of work.

Indian mythology believes that  Brahma created Aadi Purush. Brahma was the creator, Vishnu was the nourisher and Shiva, the destroyer.  It is believed that  Brahmans originated from the head of the Aadi Purush, Ksatriya  from the chest, Vaishya from the stomach and Shudra from the Thigh. Brahman originating from the head was believed to be having the livelihood on the basis of  learning and preaching. Ksatriya was believed to be warriors and meant for  protection of society and boundaries. Vaishya was believed to be traders and  engaged in commerce, industry and agriculture and shudra was believed to be labourers. Thus was the social division on the basis of division of  labour creating four different varnas  representing different works. In  due course of time, these varnas got consolidated into four segments and tried to  assert its own importance over others. This resulted into  dis- harmony, dis-equilibrium and  in-fights amongst the four varnas.  Seeing the social-upheaval and social-revolution, Devtas got concerned and went  to Brahma and Vishnu. They prayed for the  harmony and development of the  society. Then Brahma took Penance for thousands years and Chitragupta was created from the Kaya of Brahma, believed to be  Avatar of Vishnu. Since he was Gupta in Chitta of Brahma, he was  named as  Chitragupta. Since he was  originated from Kaya of Brahma as descendents are called Kayastha (Kaya-Mind; Stha-Body).  Brahma  assigned the work to Shri Chitragupta ji to administer and provide  justice, to integrate the four varnas for smooth and judicious functioning of the social system and bring social harmony and development. Since then from time immemorial, Kayasthas are dedicated to administration and judiciary with full dedication, sincerity, hard-work and balance of judgement. Brahma as a whole, from his Kaya as a whole,  creating  Chitragupta as a whole, to integrate the Aadi Purush or the social system divided, on the basis of varna system, to bring  equilibrium, harmony, integration and  order in the whole society.   This symbolic presentation of a Whole (complete) from a whole (complete), attaches much significance to the integration  and cohesion of the society and represents the character of Kayastha as the one, working for integration and growth of the society as a whole, irrespective of any division based on caste, creed or religion.

Kayasthas are the  descendents and Shri Chitragupta Ji  Maharaj and represent a whole-a force, which unites the society. That is why they do not believe in  caste system and  do not find a place in ‘Varna-Vyasvastha’ and  ‘Caste- System’, as they are not casteist. They  are a lineage of Shri Chitragupta Ji and nationalist, duty conscious and  judicious in approach. The great leaders like  Raja Todarmal, Swami Vivekanand, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Sh. Lal Bhahadur Shastri, Munshi Premchand, Subhash Chandra Bose, Jai Prakash Narain are the examples of  efficient and self-less services to the whole  mankind. However, historical, social changes and events have affected the lineage and  there has been a great dilution to their heritage and work field,  which has  in turn resulted in several social problems including unemployment amongst the  youth and increase in the number of unmarried daughters. They are fast loosing their place in the society and in the nation  building. The time has come to arise and awake as the Master Leader Swami Vivekananda spoke-

“Arise, awake and be enlightened, until the goal is reached.”

Therefore, it was unanimously felt that there is an urgent and emergent need of creating a - WE FEELING and solidarity and create a Larger Family. With this goal an appeal was made to all kaystha/chitrash organizations / Sabhas to join  hands with www.kayastha.com and come together on the net.  www.kayastha.com is providing  complimentary web pages to  all the Organizations / Sabhas to give a global exposure to  their organizational set up and  their activities, which may be  mailed to ceo@www.kayastha.com. They all committed themselves to work in unison towards this goal, with all-might.
