Saxena Sewa Samity was established in Calcutta in
the year 1947 and was registered under West
Bengal Society Act in 1959.
Saxena Samity registration no. is S/3711 of 1959-60.
At present Saxena membership strength is of 320
members - 150 Saxena member in Kolkata & 170 Saxena
members from other states of India.
Sexena Samity's main
activities are as follows:-
1.
Since the last 21 years we have been regularly
organizing FREE CAMP at Babughat, Kolkata from
09.Jan. up to 17. Jan. to provide free medical
assistance & medicaneto Ganga Sagar pilgrims. This
year about 38,000 patients were attended. In
addition we provide Free transportation to helpless
pilgrims from Kolkata to Sagar point and back, and
we distribute blankets to the needy.
In addition at the same spot we with 2 more
social organizations jointly provide Free
Fooding and Tea to the pilgrims.
2. Recently we have constructed a
Dharamshala at Janki Chatti to facilate tirtha
yatries going for Yamnotri darshan in Uttaranchal.
3.
This year we have purchased the 1st. floor on the
plot of Chitragupta Sabha (WB) at Moorigram to make
a community hall.
4. Enroute between Sultanpur to
Baidnathdham (Bihar) we organize a Free Medical Camp
during Srawan mela.
5. For our community welfare we
organize Holi Preeti Sammelan, Deshara Varshik
Utsav and Sports & cultural progammes every year.
6. From time to time we organize
Blood Donation Camp.
7. We provide regular financial
help to some of the genuine needy families in our
community.
8. Recently Scholarship grant
proposal has been introduced in our community for
students upto High School study.
9. All our activities and
programmes are very sucessfully proformed by
financial contribution from within our members.
